I love ballerinas, too! When I squealed when I first saw this Daily Deviation. The sense of wonder and the body language of the ballerina outside the doorway is perfect. I love the storytelling & whimsy in the piece! We also shared this Daily Deviation on deviantART's official Facebook page: [link]
the image is styled beautifully and the story it tells is strong. The contrast between the cold, outside world with adults who's eyes are closed and bright, magical world of the dance studio is clever. The only thing i'd suggest done differently with the image is that I would have liked to have seen the little girl reflect more of the warm light from the inside. She gets it and she deserves to be basking in that glow.
Go to Netflix, look up Nutcracker - it's INCREDIBLY well casted, and the guy who plays godfather Drosselmeier/the Pasha is AMAZING. it's a fantastic movie, you'll love it. Trust me. ^^ Just rewatched it last night, myself. Great movie - if you know Maurice Sendak, all the better. You'll recognize his work! >.>
Love the contrast between warmth and coldness in this piece, the obvious warmth coming from the "angels". Also a lovely way of painting digitally, great composition(!!) and I just love the bit of background on the left Congratulations on the DD, definitely a
I absolutely love this artwork: I like how the little girl stares at those ballerinas, I bet she dreams about wearing a tutu and dancing like them. In contrast, other people in the street just walk away and are absolutely not interested. We should be strong enough and follow our dreams, no matter if we had chosen the hardest path and no one encourage us... Congratulations on the DD!!
