I love ballerinas, too! When I squealed when I first saw this Daily Deviation. The sense of wonder and the body language of the ballerina outside the doorway is perfect. I love the storytelling & whimsy in the piece! We also shared this Daily Deviation on deviantART's official Facebook page: [link]

I remember driving past a dance studio in the evening and sometimes being lucky enough to see the ballet students at work through the windows.

That the dancers are all women of color makes this even more moving to me. I wonder what the dancer in the door will say to the little girl...

I love the feeling of this piece; the mixture of warmth and cold just makes the message more stirring. Beautiful!

the image is styled beautifully and the story it tells is strong. The contrast between the cold, outside world with adults who's eyes are closed and bright, magical world of the dance studio is clever. The only thing i'd suggest done differently with the image is that I would have liked to have seen the little girl reflect more of the warm light from the inside. She gets it and she deserves to be basking in that glow.
